We typically schedule referral consultations within 1-2 weeks for routine cases. For urgent situations or patients in pain, we can often arrange appointments within 2-3 working days. When you contact our Referrals Coordinator, let us know the urgency level and we’ll prioritise accordingly. We understand that timely access matters for both you and your patients.
What information do you need when making a referral?
We need basic patient details (name, contact information, date of birth), a brief clinical summary explaining the reason for referral, relevant medical history (particularly for implant cases), and any available radiographs or recent x-rays. If you have CBCT scans or periapical radiographs, these are helpful but not essential as we can take additional imaging during the consultation. The more information you can provide, the better prepared we’ll be for the first appointment.
Will my patient be returned to my care after treatment?
Absolutely. We view referrals as a collaborative partnership, not an opportunity to retain patients. Once the specialist treatment is complete, your patient will be discharged back to your care with a comprehensive treatment summary, post-treatment guidance, and recommendations for ongoing maintenance. We’ll keep you informed throughout the treatment process and ensure a smooth transition back to your practice.
Do you accept NHS referrals or only private patients?
We accept referrals for private treatment only. Patients referred to us will be seen on a private basis with all costs explained clearly during their initial consultation. If your patient has budget concerns, we offer 0% finance options for treatments over £500 and can discuss flexible payment plans to make treatment more accessible.
Can I discuss a case with you before making a formal referral?
Yes, absolutely. We welcome pre-referral discussions and are happy to review clinical information, imaging, or case details before you formally refer a patient. This can be particularly helpful for complex cases where you’d like to discuss treatment options or determine if referral is appropriate.
